I am curious, do you do the figure first, then press clay for the mold and then fill with resin? (I have never done Resin before I only work in Polymer..)

Oh lord no! Pressed clay molds are pretty much useless for anything more than simple texture molds. The original was sculpted in a type of clay very similar to plasticine, like kids play with. I made a box around it and poured silicone (Mold Max 15T) over it to create the mold. Then removed the original sculpture and cast my resins in polyurethane (Smooth-Cast 300) resin. Simples :)

Sorry, it's one of those things where I'm so used to it that I assume I'm making sense. Smooth-on.com has LOTS of great step-by-step guides for beginners :)
